🌳 Dö för Dig/Slå rot (Die for You/Take Roots): An Upside-Down Oak in the Heart of Stockholm 🌳

Dö för Dig - Slå rot, a masterpiece by Charlotte Gyllenhammar, isn't just an oak - it's a powerful statement, a symbol of vulnerability and strength. Suspended upside down above Drottninggatan at Sergels torg in the fall of 2023, this iconic oak challenges our perspectives and delves into the complexities of human existence.

💪 Despite it's might, the oak's inverted position echoes the harsh transformation of urban spaces in the 1960s, a major contrast to the devastation caused by war in many European cities just a few years earlier.

🎨 Originally featured in the "Rules of the Game"-exhibition back in 1993, Dö för Dig marked a turning point for public art in Sweden, inviting artistic expression into urban landscapes. Now, after three decades, a new iteration of this profound work was rising once again, reaffirming its significance in a transformed cityscape.

🔄 The oak, sourced sustainably from private land, stands as a testament to regeneration. Thinned out to allow other trees to flourish, it embodies the cycle of life, offering new beginnings beyond its own existence.

🏙️ Drottninggatan's Evolution: Since 1993, Drottninggatan has witnessed profound changes, including the tragic events of 2017. Die for You/Take Roots, 2023 serves as a poignant reference point, adding depth to the city's narrative.

🛑 As of November 18th, the oak has been carefully taken down. 🌳 When it rises again, only time will tell, carrying with it the memories and reflections inspired by this remarkable piece of public art.

🎨 Artistic Visionaries: Charlotte Gyllenhammar, alongside Stockholm Art and the State Art Council, spearheaded this transformative project. Special thanks to Niklas Haglund, Ramsbury, Binsell, and Carlhans for their invaluable contributions.

But wait, there's more! In a historic twist, the latest inflation figures has triggered a real estate rally, making November feel like the property market's version of a Marvel movie – with villains, heroes, and, of course, a lot of drama. Blank crushing galore for the bearish speculators!

And now, drumroll, please... introducing Bengt Ågerup, Sweden's debt superstar! Currently holding the title for the most debt in the nation with a staggering 1.6 billion kronor tax debt. Rumor has it he's playing financial hide-and-seek by moving assets to Cyprus. Stockholm's tingsrätt decided to freeze his assets, making it more exciting than a heist movie plot twist.

Dear Tjuren,

It's been a wild journey since we started this company together. From the very beginning, we knew we were the chosen ones, the ones who would create something truly unique. Together, we've smashed barriers, sweated blood and tears, and experienced adventures beyond anyone's imagination.

As Lemmy once said, "The chase is better than the catch." And to our friends, what a chase it has been! But now, with a heavy heart, it's time to close this chapter in our epic saga.

With overwhelming gratitude and a deep sense of sorrow, we write this. Thank you, a thousand times thank you, for granting us the honor of spending so many years with you.

We will remember all the fantastic projects we worked on together, especially the times we defied all odds and delivered something that seemed impossible.

The journeys, what adventures! We will always miss the odd destinations, bizarre events, long dinners with all sorts of strange food, and being stuck in a conference room – a true delight!

The parties! What joy to create these together, some with a hint of envy from colleagues who didn't get to meet all industry peers under the same roof. Your hard work organizing the extravagantly grand parties will always be a lifelong memory. What would we have done without them?

And last but not least, thanks to our clients who scrutinized our motto "always putting the customer and the project first," even if it meant working late, weekends, and forgetting our families. You have truly shown us what dedication means.

So, with this, we wish the leadership all the luck in the world in continuing to realize their visions and dreams. We will always keep you in our thoughts, especially as we enjoy our well-deserved time as "unemployed."

Our office at Styckjunkargatan 1, which happens to be the place where Jonas Åkerlund most likely created his iconic rock videos, is a symbol of our eclectic and relaxed attitude.
