🏰✨ Introducing Öskaret 1: A Timeless Tale of Transformation along Torsgatan! 🌆🔗

Nestled in the beating heart of Stockholm, Öskaret 1, a captivating edifice envisioned by architect Ferdinand Boberg in 1906, stands as a testament to a rich history. Originally crafted for Stockholm's Vatten- och Gasverk, this architectural gem has found a new guardian in the form of Castellum, breathing life into its historic walls.

The journey began with a noble vision – to forge a modern meeting haven in the heart of Stockholm. Rescuing this underutilized office building, frozen in time since its last renovation in the 1970s, became a mission. The challenge was not just to meet legal requirements but to surpass them, fueled by the lofty aspirations of both property owners and future tenants.

Öskaret 1 metamorphosed from its dormant state into a dynamic, high-performance office space with vibrant public ground floors. Navigating through the intricate dance of laws, regulations, and ambitious expectations, the project unfolded. The new office spaces emerged as a harmonious response to the demands of a contemporary workspace – efficient, flexible, and equipped with cutting-edge technical systems.

Yet, this transformation wasn't without its share of trials. Guided by the understanding that Öskaret 1 boasts not just architectural significance but also cultural and historical values, the journey was laden with challenges and careful considerations. Nestled at Isafjordsgatan 14E in Kista, Stockholm, House 10 Kista isn't just an office building; she's an eight-story marvel designed with finesse by Wingårdh Arkitektkontor, commissioned by Vasakronan. Completed in June 2010, this architectural gem is the proud abode of the telecommunications juggernaut, Ericsson.

Picture this: a distinctive cubic design, a curtain wall construction with a fully glazed, smooth exterior, and dark window bands harmoniously playing with white parapets to create a captivating horizontal band effect. What elevates the facade from monotony are the entrances – a dramatic interruption in the form of an irregular "ravine" or "crack," as if the house was torn apart in a spectacular act.

The "ravine" motif, crafted from colored glass in various shades of orange, stretches through the interior in the form of an irregular glass column – a chromatic marvel that dances through all floors like a garden of light. 🏢💫 Embracing Elegance: The Resplendent Hornsberg 10 Reimagined! 🌿✨

Behold Hornsberg 10, a testament to timeless beauty where history converges with contemporary grace. Standing proudly under the care of Castellum, this architectural jewel unfolds its story in three captivating chapters.

The saga begins in 1948 when the first strokes of construction paint its narrative. A brief pause, and then, after 17 years, the next chapter unfolds. The grand finale arrives in 1985, marking the completion of a structure that would undergo a remarkable metamorphosis.

This once-dreary 80s relic has now emerged as a beacon of modernity, boasting expansive windows and a fresh, invigorating design. It's a testament to the fact that every corner of Hornsberg 10, despite its unassuming name, breathes life into Castellum's most extensive reuse project to date.

In a world where low-to-lacquer and cramped rooms have yielded to spacious, climate-conscious offices, Hornsberg 10 proudly stands. Castellum, faced with the choice of constructing anew or revitalizing the existing, chose the latter—a choice that echoes the commitment to sustainability.

The 11,000 square meters of modernization were orchestrated with a keen eye on climate-smart practices and a paramount focus on recycling. A staggering 25% reduction in CO2e emissions compared to constructing a new building is a testament to this commitment. It's a nod to the environment, saving 1,964 tons of carbon dioxide, equivalent to a remarkable 785,600 miles by car.

Every detail of Hornsberg 10 sings a song of sustainability. The decision to reuse the frame spared 1,033 tons of CO2e emissions, embodying the essence of responsible architecture. A symphony of reuse unfolded within its walls: 170 doors, 300 windows, and 200 glass sections, contributing to a climate-saving feat of 34 tonnes of carbon dioxide.

The commercial structures lining the E4 not only serve as a guardian against the bustle for residents but also boast prime visibility for the businesses within.

This evolving landscape, nurtured since the late 1990s, paints an urban masterpiece through Gustav III's Boulevard and Rosenborgsgatan, gracefully embracing the E4. Beyond shielding the residents from urban clamor, this boulevard plays host to charming houses adorned with cafes, restaurants, boutiques, and service stores—a vibrant tapestry connecting Frösunda to the enchanting National Park of Hagaparken and the tranquil Brunnsviken through two pedestrian tunnels and a motorway bridge.

The completion of Houses 3 and 4 in 2014 marked a zenith in sustainable architecture, encompassing approximately 15,000 square meters of thoughtful design. Proudly standing as some of Stockholm's most environmentally astute structures, these edifices embody the coveted "LEED Platinum" certification, a pinnacle in contemporary environmental accolades. Striving for LEED Platinum necessitates ingenious solutions in energy efficiency, and Rosenborg stands tall with its aquifer system, securing self-sufficient heating and cooling.

Ventilation, guided by presence sensors, and automated dimming of lights after office hours embody the essence of a living, breathing entity that respects both its inhabitants and the environment. With a total energy consumption 40% lower than its counterparts, Rosenborg stands as a beacon of collaborative innovation, a testament to the harmonious partnership between Vasakronan and Sweco's architects, offering a tranquil backdrop to the ever-pulsating E4. 🌍💚
